Introduction
This article outlines the onboarding process for members who are imported into the platform by an admin. It covers how they are notified, how they access their account for the first time, and what they see when they log in.
Step-by-step walkthrough
1. Member receives an activation email
When a member is imported into the platform and their membership is activated, they receive an email—if the activation email setting is enabled. This email includes a button labeled “Access Account Now.”
Clicking the button takes the member to the login page.

2. Member logs in
The login page shows the member’s name and email pre-filled (from the imported data). The member just needs to set a password to access their account.
3. Member accesses their portal
After logging in, the member is taken to My Glue, their member portal. They’re prompted to complete their profile, but can choose to skip it.
In My Glue, they’ll see an onboarding widget on the right-hand side of the page. It contains a checklist to help them complete their profile:
- Create Your Profile – Automatically checked once they log in
- Add Your Profile Photo – Checked after uploading a photo
- Add Your Occupation – Checked after filling out occupational info
- Edit Your Business Card – Checked once they open the business card editor
Each completed step increases the progress bar by 25%.
Members can choose to skip onboarding. On first skip, the widget will appear again next time they log in. If skipped a second time, they can confirm to skip it permanently.
4. Accessing Membership Details
In My Glue, the member can click “Memberships” in the left-side panel to access their membership information.
They’ll see their membership profile, including the type and validity period (start and end dates).
To view more details, they can click “View Membership Details.”
FAQ
Can the onboarding checklist be customized?
No. The checklist is fixed and applies to all imported members.
Can admins see which onboarding steps a member has completed?
No. Admins cannot track onboarding progress for individual members.
What happens if a member skips onboarding or doesn’t complete it?
They still have full access to the platform. Members can complete or update their profile at any time.
What if the member doesn’t receive the activation email?
Ask the member to check their spam folder. If they still can’t find it, the admin can resend the activation email from the admin side.
