Introduction

This guide explains how to create and manage membership discount codes, a feature designed to offer exclusive savings to your members. This feature gives administrators full control over discounts for both individual and corporate memberships.

Overview

Membership discount codes provide the following capabilities:

• Simplified Discount Creation: A dedicated page facilitates the creation of discount codes.
• Flexible Discount Options: Administrators can configure various discount parameters to meet their specific needs.

Accessing the Discount Code Creation Page

To begin creating discount codes, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Membership Settings and select General Information.
2. Click on the Discount Code tab.

Creating a New Discount Code

Once you are on the Discount Code page, you can create a new discount code by clicking the "Add Discount" button.

When creating a discount code, you can configure the following parameters:

• Discount Name and Code:
  • Assign a descriptive name to the discount code.
  • Customize the actual code that members will use. (The character limit for a code is 100)
• Discount Type:
  • Choose between a percentage discount (e.g., 10%) or a fixed amount discount (e.g., $50).
• Application Terms:
  • Specify the number of terms the discount applies to.
  • Select "Lifetime" for a permanent discount.
• Validity:
  • Determine if the discount is valid for both applications and renewals.
• Duration and Usage Limits (Optional):
  • Set a specific start and end date for the discount code.
  • Limit the total number of times the discount code can be used.
• Applicable Membership Types:
  • Select the specific membership types to which the discount code applies.

Important Considerations

Please note the following important information:

• Incompatibility with Multi-Term Discounts: Discount codes cannot be combined with multi-term discounts applied through membership types.
• Renewal Requirements: For renewals, discount codes can only be applied to memberships that have confirmation enabled for upcoming renewals.

Troubleshooting

• Discount Code Not Applying: Ensure that the membership type is selected for the discount code and that the renewal confirmation is enabled if applying to renewals. Also ensure no multi-term discounts conflict.
• Invalid Discount Code Error: Double-check the discount code for typos and confirm that it is still within its valid duration and usage limits.
• Discount Code Not Showing Up: Refresh the page or clear the browser cache. If the issue persists, contact support.
